Components
Helesul's line of Components is developed according to international standards, ensuring quality, compatibility and resistance in hydraulic systems. Suitable for industrial, agricultural and automotive applications that require reliable performance, operational safety and long service life of hydraulic assemblies.
In general, yes, thanks to the metric and UNF options and the use of adapters when necessary. Check the thread/port pair and the machine pattern.
Fewer microleaks, faster assembly and less rework, which translates into more available machines and lower fluid consumption throughout the life cycle.
DKO (Double Cone O-ring) adapters use a double O-ring sealing system, while traditional JICs have only one sealing cone. The DKO system reduces leaks by up to 98% and offers a useful life 3 times longer, with tolerance to multiple assembly and disassembly without loss of efficiency.
A JIC hydraulic adapter is a standardized connection component that uses a 37° conical thread (according to ISO 6149). It connects hoses, cylinders and valves in hydraulic systems, ensuring metal-to-metal sealing without the use of rubber rings. Widely adopted in agricultural, road machinery and industrial equipment.
JIC uses a 37° conical thread and metal-to-metal seal, while standards such as SAE use cylindrical threads. JIC offers greater resistance to high pressures (up to 280 bar), lower risk of leaks under vibration and guaranteed international compatibility. Therefore, it is preferred in agricultural implements and equipment that operate in severe conditions.
The BSPP (Parallel) thread is cylindrical and its sealing depends on an O-ring housed in a recess. It is ideal for systems that require frequent assembly and disassembly. The BSPT (Conical) thread, in turn, seals due to the tightening and deformation of the threads themselves (metal-to-metal), being the preferred choice for high pressure applications and permanent installations under continuous vibration.
No. There are three completely different thread standards (BSP 55°, JIC 37°, SAE 45°). Mixing standards results in unsafe connections, leaks and permanent damage to components. Always check the standard of your system before any replacement. Although conversion adapters exist, they can introduce restriction points into the flow.
With correct installation, a BSP adapter can last more than a decade. Maintenance is simple: biannual visual inspections in search of leaks or corrosion, external cleaning and, in the case of BSPP, changing the O-ring whenever the connection is broken. Avoid over-tightening, which is one of the main causes of thread failure.
It is possible to interconnect ORFS to JIC, BSP or metrics using specific adapters. We recommend checking the pressure, thread and sealing profile of each transition to maintain tightness and safety.
Under normal conditions, no. The O-ring compensates for microsettlements. Use a torque wrench when assembling and follow the torque table by gauge. Frequent retightening may damage the O-ring.
NPTF has tighter tolerance and can seal without sealant in fuels. For hydraulics, NPT with PTFE tape offers better cost-benefit and ease of maintenance.
The conical geometry causes the sides of the thread to compress against each other as it is tightened, creating a metallic barrier that is complemented with PTFE tape or anaerobic sealant.
