A JIC hydraulic adapter is a standardized connection component that uses a 37° conical thread (according to ISO 6149). No. There are three completely different thread standards (BSP 55°, JIC 37°, SAE 45°). Mixing standards results in unsafe connections, leaks and permanent damage to components. Always check the standard of your system before any replacement. Although conversion adapters exist, they can introduce restriction points into the flow.
Use PTFE tape if the connection will be retightened periodically. Prefer anaerobic sealant for permanent sealing and greater vibration resistance.
